At an early age, buy educational baby toys for your kid that can teach him what to do for the environment. Equip him with a little pail when you put him out in the yard for the sunshine and the fresh air that he needs. He can fill this up with water by himself from the garden faucet out there, so he can help you in watering your plants.
He needs supervision of course when he opens the faucet; teach him to be sure to close the faucet after his small pail is full, with your explanation that he should not waste water since water is the most important part of the environment that keeps the plants alive. Slowly explain to him that plants not getting any water will die from the heat of the sun. You can show him some of your plants that are starting to wilt because you forgot to water them the other day.
Let the kid tag along with you as you go around with you in watering the plants with you with the sprinkler. The kid objects by his educational toy that he should have the same sprinkler that you are using and that he does not like his water pail. You hurry back to the house with him to get him the little plant sprinkler you remember you also bought along with the kid’s pail last time you were in the store for garden supplies.
The kid’s eyes showed his happiness that he too has his own sprinkler now and runs back and forth with it to the faucet with you as you complete the watering of all your plants. He seems to like the watering activity so much that he complains again in his
that you should both water all the plants all over again so he can use his new sprinkler.
You instead bring out his little shovel and begin to teach him his second lesson for the environment. With your own hand shovel, you now teach him on how to till the soil and plant some seedlings you have prepared for transplanting to another portion of your yard. He goes through this activity with more gusto as you explain that the plants are a very vital part of the environment, pointing to the trees around as what results from the seedling you are now replanting, after so many years.
You take him under one of the trees and continue his lessons on the environment, this time with you telling him that one of the reasons we should have trees is for the shade they provide under which you can rest from the heat of the sun, as what you are doing now. His eyes are as wide as ever when he comes to know the lessons you are giving him, even sitting back against the tree trunk and relaxing his little body while you fetch him a cool drink from the kitchen.
When you indicate that you should continue replanting the seedlings, he objects obviously wanting to relax some more with the sipping of his juice drink. So, you get his toy hammock and set it up under tree, telling the kid he can sleep if he wants to. He smiles obviously happy that you have taught him for the day the use of his educational toys for baby for the garden and for the environment.
