Cleaning Baby Toys

How to Clean your Baby Toys

Babies are sensitive to dust, dirt and even germs. They get sick easily because their immune system is not fully developed. Hence, maintaining cleanliness is important especially keeping their milk bottles, cribs and baby toys free from any kind of impurities. Cleaning your baby’s toys is important because your baby is often in contact with them and these toys are exposed not only to dust but to all the bacteria and germs carried in the air or by those who held the toys.

Cleaning baby toys is easy by following some tried and tested ways used by mothers all over the world. You could have the traditional way such as cleaning them with the ordinary soap and water. Some moms use even disinfectants in order to kill hard germs. While some moms are afraid to try this because of the poisonous content of disinfectants, some moms swear that disinfectants thoroughly clean classic baby toys. You could also use the dishwater in cleaning your babies’ plastic toys but make sure that you do it with a clean dishwasher. Plush toys may be washed in the gentle cycle using the hot water.

Moms also have their natural way of cleaning by using materials that are non- toxic because of their natural ingredients. You can use safe, natural and non-toxic soap and hot water in cleaning baby toys. You can also use non-toxic surface cleaner to wipe off dirt and grimes if washing it would destroy the toy. You can also use vinegar and baking soda while cleaning these toys.

Wood toys must be cleaned with water and dry them quickly. Don’t let them stay in water for very long. Plush toys are prone to dust mites hence must be washed as often as you can even if you place it in a glass compartment when not in used. Rub the toys when cleaning so that dust and germs will be removed.  Some moms sanitize these toys by mixing bleaching with a hot soap and water. Some let these toys be soaked fro several minutes or hour. When you are going to try this, make sure that it is rinsed thoroughly before drying. You could air dry it.

Keep alternate toys so that your baby will have something to play with while you clean the other toys. Lots of parents buy so many baby plush toys which the baby can’t handle all so just make a schedule when a particular set of toys will be cleaned. Just make sure that you don’t forget to clean a particular set of toys.

You should clean your baby einstein toys once they got spoiled. Don’t let germs and bacteria hibernate in the toys by failing to clean them as soon as possible. You should also clean it if other kids have used it in order to maintain good hygiene. If your baby also got sick and played with the toys, clean it as soon as possible to prevent spreading of the germs.

Cleaning of toys for babies has never been easy. Just don’t forget to rinse it thoroughly to remove soap residues and bleach solutions.
