Rearing a child is one of the most fulfilling jobs a parent can do aside from career growth and financial success. But it is also admitted that raising a child is one tough job that cannot be learned overnight. It takes a lot of preparation and hard work in order to raise nice, intelligent, good kids. Parents do and give a lot of things to their babies thinking that it would help them grow such as expensive educacional toys . Even at a young age, parents enroll their kids to different classes such as ballet dancing, piano lessons and several camps hoping that their kids will grow up talented and well-rounded. As the child matures, parents send them to the best colleges in the hope of giving them the best education they could give their kids. Indeed, parents only want the best for their children.
Oftentimes, parents tend to do a lot of things for their kids that are somehow suffocating. Parents always mean well but there are times that they are overdoing things or their kids are hindered from expressing their own selves because their parents are too overbearing.
Here are some common misconceptions on child rearing:
The Most Expensive is always the Best.
Giving the child the most expensive of things may not be the best thing to do. Price is not equivalent to love and care and will never assure that the child would feel loved. Giving them the most expensive educational baby toys will not necessarily mean that they will get educated through it if they don’t have the proper guidance from their parents.
Too Many School Activities and Lessons may is Good for Them.
Enrolling them to different classes aside from their regular classes will help boost their confidence and further enhance their talents. However, enrolling them to ballet class, piano lessons, math tutorials, and karate classes all at the same time may not be a good practice for young ones. Kids also need time to play with kids of their own age and enjoy the beauty of nature. They also need time to discover their surroundings of their own. These classes are good for your kids but make sure that they are not overloaded with these classes and that they still have time to enjoy their free time. In fact giving them educational learning toys is already a learning process while they are still young. Avoid bombarding them with so many activities and things that may hinder the development of their passions and creativity.
The Way to a Child’s Heart is to give Him Everything He wants.
Admit it, parents are spoilers. They give almost everything that their child wants even though they may not afford it or that the thing may not be good to the development of the child. For example they give him the most beautiful and most expensive educational wood toys that he saw on the television even though they have to make ends meet at the middle of the month. They buy him the latest game boy even though they know that it teaches him violence. Parents give everything their child thinking that it would make the kids feel that they love him.
Remember that the time spent with the kids, the love and care shown to a growing child is the best gift you could give your children. A time spent with you playing with educational toys for baby may be more important than hours spent in a piano lesson with an uncaring instructor. Remember that in everything you do as a parent for your child, think of the long-term consequences and effect on your babies.
